What is Corgi Lab Mix?

A Welsh Corgi Labrador Mix is a cross dog that is produced by Labrador Retrievers and Welsh Corgi. The parents of these are well known for their friendly and calm nature. They have short legs and long bodies like Corgi. But have a tough body structure like Labrador.

Umm, the Lab Corgi Mix has a height of about 12 – 24 inches. Their weight is about 30 – 60 pounds. Well, they are colourful too. Their hairs are fawn, red, black, yellow or chocolate. The Black Lab Corgi Mix is one of my favourite mix dogs in colour.

Nature and Personality

Well, as I said earlier. The Corgi Lab mix dog is friendly and calm. They are also very loyal dogs. Both these dogs, Labrador and Corgi are famous for their friendly, energetic and supportive natures just like Chihuahua Labrador Mix.

Exercise Needs

And, the Lab and Corgi Mix is an active and energetic dog. So they need a lot of exercise. Daily walks or running, fetching, puzzles, and playing in the open atmosphere like in the garden or parks. This will be helpful for them as well as for you. These exercises may also be helpful for both mental and physical stimulation for your Corgi and Yellow Lab mix dog.

Involvement and Training

Well, the good news is, that training the Corgi Lab mix puppy is easy. Cause they are active and willing to play and learn more. They love to learn new commands from their owners. But you still have to give some of your time and attention to them. They love their owner to cuddle with them when they get love from their owners.

Again my words, the sooner they get involved, the better they will be! Early involvement is very helpful for your dog because it benefits them to play with other pets and people. It can reduce their fear of strangers. This makes them a good watchdog too.

Health and Life Ages

Well, the healthy Labrador Corgi Mix life is about 10 – 14 ages. And this life is possible in just one way they receive good health care, vet check-ups and proper diet. The Corgi Lab mix is healthy but it can also have health problems which are sometimes inherited from their parents. Let me tell you about common problems that they can have

  • Hip Dysplasia: The most common disease among all dogs in which the hip joint is injured.

  • Intervertebral Disc Disease: This common disease Welsh Corgi Black Lab mix can be inherited.

  • Obesity: It may be caused by doing nothing or not having exercise and playtime and sitting in the home all day.

As I said above, daily exercise is crucial. Daily walks, running time, fun time, fetching, puzzles, or playing in the garden or parks are good for them. If you are the one who loves to play outside and can be able to fulfil their exercise and proper diet needs then this mix will be your perfect choice. Daily vet checkups, at least twice a week are a must to keep them safe and healthy.

Grooming Needs

Well, like other dogs, it does not shed a lot. I know that’s good news for you. But remember one thing! Their shedding is dependent on their parents’ genes. If they have denser hairs like Labradors, then you have to brush them twice a week to remove loose hairs. But if they have double coats/hairs like Corgis, then daily brushing is important, especially in shedding seasons.

One more thing: Labradors should be bathed when they need to be washed. Daily bathing can harm their shiny hair. One more thing Labradors can have ear problems, too, so check and clean their ears and trim their nails. This makes them happy and healthy.
